I ran 53 minutes this morning. It was mostly pretty flat, but there was one big hill at the end. I felt tired but I did it! I’m also still keeping up with my push ups but I for real need to do more strength training.
you’ve ever started a conversation with someone just because they have a t-shirt on from a race
A picture is worth a thousand words.
not so fast, bitch
reflagging my own post to say to anyone who is feeling this way right now…it gets better. promise :)
I did not run AGAIN yesterday, I totally meant to but I passed out on the couch (calculus homework is not allowing me to sleep ugh) after class and then had to go in for work training (although they told me the wrong day so I got home hah) and then did calculus homework for several hours and then was literally so tired I was dizzy so I went to bed and slept for 10 hours. I could barely even wake up then!
I did run though today! Success!
I also had a horseback riding lesson (first one in 3.5 years I’m crying tears of joy) and it’s definitely an active activity. My instructor talked a lot about using my calves and my core and I actually need to develop certain physical strengths for riding. It was so great, I missed horseback riding so much. I’m still in pretty good shape too in regards to the skill of being able to actually ride — first time on a horse in so many years and I was able to canter in both leads and go over a few cross rails.
- 20 minutes on my own to the group run — one mini-ish hill
- 30 minutes at captains’ practice — one huge hill
- 10 minutes home
- An hour total! Score!
My pace was definitely quicker than it was my run the other night, and I also ran up the hill all the way that I walked part of a few nights ago. We call the hill Depot because the street that goes up the hill is Depot St. I ran up all of Depot, and I was also the third person to reach the top! The first two boys raced each other up it so they sprinted, but I beat all the other boys and a couple girls and another girl basically tied me. It wasn’t even hard until the end!! It was a fun night of running and I can kind of feel my body starting to feel the “wow I haven’t run in forever I feel so heavy and out of shape” feeling go away but I’m still far from the “wow I feel like a fit runner” feeling, but that’s okay!
Did not run, I was actually going to put then it started raining and my friend asked me to going swimming with him and I cannot turn up swimming in the lake while it’s raining.
We swam out again a quarter mile to an oil rig and jumped off it (scary) and then swam back and noodled around and swam in the shallow water by the shore for a while during the rain.
So I swam a decentish amount but did not run, also I’ve been doing push-ups every night but I really need to actually start strength training (and running oops).
I’m happy though! I don’t feel guilty about not running I guess, just that I know I should be running haha. I actually love that my life does not ~revolve~ around running anymore, but I do want to be a little more motivated/in shape/also xc ahhh.
i need my body to toughen up a little so i can get excited about running again.
Yee so I did not run since the 9th, unfortunately. On Thursday I got an IUD (sorry tmi?) so I wasn’t feeling super hot Thursday or Friday, and on Saturday I spent the first half of the day with my boyfriend because he’s leaving for two weeks and then I did my entire calculus midterm and then passed out. But I ran today, so that is triumph!
- 31 minute run
- One big hill at the end that I walked 30 seconds of
- Then I went to the lake
- I swam a quarter mile out to an oil rig with a friend and we sat on it and then jumped off the top (scary) and then swam back — lots of swimming
And I shall run again tomorrow!
