run:
- 4.63 miles
- 38:22
- average 8’15” pace
- fastest mile: 8:06 (mile 3)
- slowest mile: 8:25 (mile 2)
Yesssss finally a fast run (for me anyways)! This felt so good! Despite my hard workout day the day before, I felt awesome! It also went from being around 100-105 degrees the day before to the high being 82! The weather was amazing, though there was still a wind, but it wasn’t as bad. I really enjoyed this.
yoga:
- 90 minutes
- advanced vinyasa flow
- the hardest teacher (she does sunday and saturday)
- ABS, SWEAT, MORE CORE, AND EXHAUSTION
- the teacher guided me with a headstand! c:
This teacher is so amazingly brutal! I love her classes, and so does everyone else! There was literally no room in the classroom- it was mat to mat, everyone barely squeezing in. I kinda like it that way, as it’s so beautiful to see so many people around you doing inspiring yoga and sharing energy with each other. I was pretty tired from the day before and my tempo run before, but it still felt amazing!
After these classes with this teacher I am soaked in sweat, including every single hair on my head. I ALWAYS shower and wash my hair after this class!
long run:
- 13.1 miles
- 2:03:09
- average 9’28” pace (eeeeeeeeeeeeeeek)
- fastest mile: 8:57 (mile 1)
- slowest mile: embarassing- 10:06 (mile 10)
Once again it was soooo windy! I’m kinda glad I went slow though, I was so tired and really could not keep a good pace. This was my last long run before the half marathon on June 3rd! I ran through several sprinklers, went to the bathroom at a gas station, stopped at a park for water, and climbed the fence at my high school’s track to get water again. It was hot!! Definitely one of my slowest long runs.
yoga:
- 60-75 minutes
- vinyasa flow
- not the hardest but pretty difficult- it felt very strengthening
- yoga classes=sweat
I felt pretty tired from my long run earlier, but my mom wanted me to go with her and I figured it would be good to stretch! It was challenging but fun.
I went to the doctor to get a physical for the next season of xc and track (ahead of the game!), and to talk about a few things. I have had amenorrhea for a year (sorry tmi) and I’ve lost 6 pounds since my last doctor’s visit about 5-6 months ago, and I’m still in a healthy weight range so it’s all good, but she thinks it’s from the increase in running. I have to get some blood work done to make sure everything is okay and I need to start taking calcium (I’ve already broken 2 bones and I don’t want any more!). I keep forgetting though so you all should remind me to take it! c:
first run:
- 3 miles
- 26:38
- average 8’52” pace (I had to go to the bathroom haha)
- fastest mile: 8:43 (mile 3)
- slowest mile: 8:59 (mile 2)
Then I went to hang out with a couple friends at a girl’s house, and we went swimming and I did some yoga on the grass in her backyard (arm balances, handstands, attempting headstands)
second run:
- 2.83 miles
- 25:17
- average 8’55” pace (again, really slow for some reason)
It was sooooo windy and I kept getting dust in my eyes! I don’t really like running in the wind, it makes breathing very difficult for me.
total:
- 5.83 miles
- 51:55 time
So this was the last day of school, and right as I was going home I ran into my friend that I ran with last Thursday! She asked me to run with her in about an hour because she had a party in the evening and wouldn’t be able to workout. She said since she was injured and it was soooo hot out that we would only do 2-3 miles.
- 2 miles running
- 2-2.5 miles walking fast
It was around noon and it was hot! I wasn’t expecting to run a lot so when her knees started hurting, we walked. I sweat a ton even while we were walking haha.
I relaxed for a little bit and then got busy so I didn’t exercise any more, but I was exhausted! My finals were very hard and caused an excruciating amount of stress but I pulled through with all As for both semesters in honors classes! c:
- 6.66 miles
- 1:00:00
- average 9’00” pace
- fastest mile: 8:42 (mile 2)
- slowest mile: 9:07 (mile 4)
Right before this I had a super important cello audition. I was so glad it was finally over!!! The stress of everything really has been completely wearing me out and bringing me down, and I really felt it on this run. It was a good run, but obviously I was going slow. I definitely need a small break from running but I can’t take one until the half marathon is over, so I’ll just run at a slower pace (but not for the race hopefully!) until then.
